Martin Luther King, Jr. Day 2012
Remembering Dr. King 2012
In my thoughts about Martin Luther King and his efforts to further the civil rights he wound up dieing for it is so apparent that the beneficiaries of his work are more than the black population of this country. It is all of us. Whenever the rights of any of us are challenged, we should all be wary. We never know when we will be next.
The color of your skin it turns out is less important than the color of your money. We, who are more or less financially comfortable, see how easily we can become poor. The dedication that we must have to a social justice system can and should be a noble effort, but if you don’t have faith in noble efforts than think in terms of self-preservation. The resulting behavior will be the same.
We are our brother’s keeper!
