Robert Trotta

Robert Trotta, a lifelong resident of Suffolk County’s 13th Legislative District, has spent his career in public service. After earning a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from C.W. Post and a Master’s degree in Labor Management from Stony Brook University, Trotta joined the Suffolk County Police Department in 1988. His dedication earned him honors such as “Cop of the Year” and “Detective of the Year.” For over a decade, he served on the FBI Violent Crimes Task Force, handling cases involving money laundering and large-scale drug operations.

In 2013, Trotta ran for Suffolk County legislator, focusing on transparency, efficiency, and fiscal responsibility. Since taking office, he has fought for open space preservation, including securing the transfer of the Kings Park State Hospital property to the New York State Office of Parks. Now in his sixth term, Trotta continues to advocate for taxpayers by eliminating wasteful spending and corruption, ensuring that Suffolk County remains a place where families can thrive.
