Bob Doyle
Bob Doyle focuses on trial practice in state and federal court on Long Island and in the City of New York. Bobhandles various types of cases, including construction accidents, trucking accidents, contract disputes, premises liability, municipal liability, vehicular negligence, and criminal law. He also defends physicians, dentists, hospitals, and healthcare facilities in malpractice actions. Bob has served as counsel to many businesses, where he advises his clients concerning all aspects of their operations and employment-related issues. Further, he has served as special prosecutor on behalf of Long Island school districts in the investigation of alleged superintendent corruption and in school board member removal proceedings.
Prior to joining Lewis Johs, Bob worked as an Assistant District Attorney for Suffolk County, where he handled all stages of criminal prosecution. Bob also served ten years in the United States Army Reserve, where he tried many cases both as a prosecutor and defense attorney in the J.A.G. Corps.
Bob is a Past President of the Nassau-Suffolk Trial Lawyers Association (President 2014 – 2015, Executive Board 2010-, Board of Directors 2006-, Treasurer 2009-10). Currently, he serves on the Advisory Board for the Long Island Metro Business Action (“LIMBA”), which unites business and government leaders for the betterment of regional business interests and life on Long Island. He also serves on the Board of Trustees for the Maryhaven Center of Hope Foundation. Bob previously served on the Board of Trustees for the Catholic Health Services Continuing Care Division (2010 – 2014; member, Executive Committee; Chair, Finance Committee; Chair, Audit Committee). Earlier in his career, Bob served as a member of the Advisory Council for Stony Brook University’s Athletic Department. Bob has lectured extensively on issues of pretrial discovery and trial practice before the New York State Bar Association, New York State Academy of Trial Lawyers, Suffolk County Bar Association, and Nassau-Suffolk Trial Lawyers Association.
Bob received a Preeminent “AV” peer review rating from Martindale Hubbell. Additionally, since 2017 Bob has been selected for inclusion in Super Lawyers, New York Metro edition which recognizes the top 2.5 percent of lawyers in the New York City Metropolitan area. Bob also was honored in 2019 by the Long Island Business News with its “Leadership in Law” award.
Bob is admitted to practice in New York, Maryland, and in the United States District Court, Eastern and Southern Districts of New York. He is a member of the New York State Bar Association, the Suffolk County Bar Association (Judicial Screening Committee, Supreme Court Committee), the Nassau-Suffolk Trial Lawyers Association, and the Defense Research Institute.
Bob Doyle earned his Juris Doctor degree from Washington and Lee University School of Law, where he competed on the National Moot Court Team. He was awarded a Bachelor of Arts degree in American Government from the University of Virginia.
