He also advanced medical education through initiatives such as the Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell\, the Hofstra-Northwell School of Nursing\, and Northwell’s Center for Learning and Innovation\, helping to prepare the next generation of health care professionals. \nIn addition\, he has been a prominent advocate for addressing gun violence as a public health issue\, mobilizing more than 60 health care CEOs nationwide to support prevention efforts. He has also been named to Modern Healthcare magazine’s “100 Most Influential People in Healthcare” for 18 consecutive years\, earning a No. 1 ranking in 2022.
