DESCRIPTION:To see the video stream of this meeting click here. \nMr. Pally was selected as the Chief Executive Officer of the Long Island Builders Institute in December 2010.\nThe Long Island Builders Institute is the largest home building trade association in New York State\, representing\nall parts of the home construction industry. Since 2005\, Mr. Pally has also been the Suffolk County representative\nto the Board of the Metropolitan Transportation Authority\, the largest mass transit operator in the world.\nPrior to his current position\, Mr. Pally was the partner in charge of government relations for the Weber Law\ngroup\, one of Long Island’s leading real estate law firms. \nPrior to joining the firm\, Mr. Pally served as the Vice-President for Governmental Affairs for the Long Island\nAssociation from 1992 to 2006. He was responsible for all governmental and community activities of the\nAssociation. Mr. Pally was associated with the LIA since August 1985 when he was appointed Director of\nLegislative and Economic Affairs. Established in 1926\, the LIA is the region’s largest business and civic\norganization with more than 3\,000 member firms and organizations employing more than 400\,000 people.\nPrior to his service with the LIA\, Mr. Pally held a number of positions in the New York State Legislature. From\n1975 to 1983\, Mr. Pally served in various capacities to the New York State Senate Committee on Transportation\nand the Legislative Commission on Critical Transportation Choices. From 1983 to 1985\, Mr. Pally was the Chief\nCounsel to the Committee and the Commission. During his service to the Senate\, Mr. Pally played a key role in\nthe drafting and passage of such important transportation legislation as the first in the nation seatbelt law\, child\nrestraint law\, the Transportation Bond Issues of 1983 and 1979\, reserved parking spaces for disabled drivers and\nothers.

DESCRIPTION:RYAN MADDEN\, SUSTAINABILITY ORGANIZER\nAs a graduate of Binghamton University\, Ryan received a BA in Political Science and Environmental Studies. Prior to his work in sustainability\, Ryan focused on electoral politics\, campaigning for national and local candidates in his hometown of White Plains and in Binghamton. Throughout his last year in college\, Ryan worked for the Energy Conservation Corps. of Cornell Cooperative Extension promoting NYSERDA’s Green Jobs Green New York energy efficiency program. After leaving Binghamton\, Ryan remained committed to working on issues of climate and energy. \nIn November 2013 he served as a delegate to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change with SustainUS\, a non-profit advocacy organization. Upon returning home\, Ryan worked as the Special Assistant for Policy at Dental Recycling International\, a mercury recycling company\, while also serving as the Policy Coordinator on SustainUS’ Steering Committee. Ryan joined the LIPC in September 2015 as a Community Organizer for PowerUp Communities. As the Sustainability Organizer\, Ryan leads LIPCs efforts for energy democracy and climate justice locally and statewide.
